Spinal Decompression

Conditions that Benefit from Cervical and Lumbar Decompression

  • Herniated Discs
  • Sciatica
  • Spinal Arthritis
  • Failed Surgery
  • Bulging Discs
  • Degenerative Disc
  • Spinal Stenosis
  • Facet Syndrome
  • Radiculopathy
  • Headaches

How Does Spinal Decompression Treatment Work?

Decompression Therapy relieves pain, reduces inflammation of the spine, and restores spinal motion all while treating the underlying cause.
Spinal Decompression Therapy creates negative pressures inside the herniated, bulging disc letting it retract naturally, thus relieving disc pressure on spinal nerves which usually relieves the pain. Reducing pressure in the disc also restores the natural transfer of surrounding fluids, nutrients, and oxygen into the disc, a process essential for disc health. Tears in the disc’s wall can now repair themselves while nutrients introduced back into the disc’s nucleus can reverse the disc’s degeneration and its collapse, and restore disc height which relieves pressure on inflamed spinal joints.

How Many Treatments are Necessary?

The majority of our patients find treatments to be a comfortable and relaxing experience, many actually even fall asleep during treatments.
Research and clinical experience have shown the best results to occur with 20-30 decompression therapy treatments. These treatments are completed at a typical frequency of 3 times per week. Several factors will determine the treatment protocol that will be specifically designed for you. No two spines are the same.
Several other treatment modalities may be employed in order to reduce inflammation, improve range of motion, decrease pain, accelerate healing potential, improve balance, and strengthen supporting structures such as Deep Tissue Laser, Muscle Therapy, Strength and Restoration Therapy, Moist Heat, Stretching and Stability Exercises in addition to Chiropractic Specific Adjustments.

Spinal Decompression Therapy is Clinically Proven

There have been several studies performed that demonstrate the effectiveness of Non-Surgical Spinal Decompression. As referenced by Gionis et al., “Results showed that 86% of the 219 patients who completed the therapy reported immediate resolution of symptoms, while 84% remained pain-free 90 days post-treatment. Physical examination findings showed improvement in 92% of the 219 patients, and remained intact in 89% of these patients 90 days after treatment.” Spinal Decompression Therapy has saved many people from spinal surgery and allowed them to return to their regular active lifestyle.
